Restoration and refinishing

Most shops want to sell you a new top. We would rather fix the one you own.

Etched marble, dull granite, stained stone, chipped edges and tired floors. Grinding, honing, polishing and sealing brings most of it back, for a fraction of replacement and without tearing your kitchen apart.

What comes back

Usually fixable.

  • Etching on marble The dull rings lemon, wine and cleaner leave behind. Honed and polished out.
  • Dull, tired granite Years of scrubbing take the polish down. It can be brought back up.
  • Stains Oil and water marks often draw out. Some do not, and we will say so.
  • Chips and cracks Filled and colour matched, then polished flush.
  • Stone floors Marble and travertine floors ground flat, refinished and sealed.
Being straight with you

When it is not worth it.

A deep structural crack across a span, a top that was never sealed and has taken years of oil right through, or a seam that was cut wrong to begin with. In those cases restoration is money spent twice. We will tell you that on the phone rather than after we have your deposit.

Send a photo before you book anything. It costs you nothing and it saves us both a trip.

Polished stone holds its finish when it is maintained. When it stops, that is what we do.
Send a photo

Tell us what happened to it.

A clear picture in daylight and a rough size is enough for us to tell you whether it comes back.
