Stone, cut to fit your house, by the same family for 60 years.

We cut granite, marble and quartz to fit your kitchen, your bath and your bar, in our own shop on Flood Avenue. We also bring tired stone back to life, and we sell the offcuts cheap.

What we do

Four things, all of them stone.

Everything is cut and finished in our own shop. Nothing is sent out and nothing is subcontracted.

Custom countertop fabrication

Kitchen counters, bathroom vanities, bar tops and islands, cut and finished in our own shop on Flood Avenue.

You pick the slab. We template the room, cut the stone, shape the edge and set it in place.

Stone restoration and refinishing

Dull, etched, stained or chipped stone brought back without replacing it.

Most shops only want to sell you a new top. We will grind, hone, polish and seal the stone you already own.

Remnant pieces

Offcuts from bigger jobs, sold at a fraction of a full slab. Right size for a vanity, a bar or a laundry counter.

The pile changes every week. Come look at what is on the floor and take the piece you like.

Tile and backsplash

Backsplashes, floors, tub surrounds and shower walls, set by the same crew that cuts the stone.

Our state license is a C-54 tile classification. Tile is not a sideline here, it is what we are licensed for.

Why people come here

The reasons customers give.

Reasonable prices

Reviewers repeatedly describe the pricing as fair and not outrageous for the Peninsula.

You choose the piece

Customers pick the exact slab or remnant they want rather than being assigned one.

They hit the date

Work finished in the window the shop quoted.

Licensed, bonded and insured

Look us up before you call anybody. That is what the state board is for.

What it costs

Rough numbers, before you call.

Nobody in this trade publishes prices, which means every homeowner starts by calling four shops to get four guesses. Here is roughly where things land so you know if we are in your range.

Note for Roman Marble: Roman Marble Shop has never published pricing and no public source lists any. The bands below are placeholders to show the layout. The shop fills in its own real numbers.
Remnant vanity top $ to $$ Offcut sized for a single bathroom vanity, cut and edged.
Kitchen in granite or quartz $$ to $$$ Templated, fabricated and installed. Depends on the slab.
Restoration and polishing $ to $$ Bringing existing stone back. No slab cost.
Backsplash or tub surround $ to $$ Tile set by the same crew.

Questions

The things people call and ask.

Do I need an appointment?

No. Walk in during shop hours and look at the slabs and the remnants. Bring a photo of your kitchen if you have one.

What is a remnant, and would one work for me?

It is the piece left over after a big slab is cut for a kitchen. If your project is a bathroom vanity, a bar, a laundry counter or a hearth, a remnant is usually the cheaper and faster way to get real stone.

Can you fix my counter instead of replacing it?

Often, yes. Etching, dullness, light scratches and most stains come out with grinding, honing and polishing. Send a photo and we will tell you honestly whether it is worth doing.

Do you do the tile too?

Yes. Our state license is a tile classification, so the backsplash and the counter come from the same crew.

How do I know you are licensed?

California license 895044, active, bonded and carrying workers compensation. You can look it up on the state board site before you call anyone.

Do you take on commercial work?

Yes. Restaurants, hotels and public buildings on the Peninsula, including the Redwood City Library and the Marriott.
